LINES of ACTION

LINES of ACTION

LINES of ACTION is a simple strategy game discovered by Claude Soucie in 1966. If you’ve played Chess, this is nothing like it. LINES is constructive, forgiving, and intuitive. It’s about weaving yourself back together.

With each play you will discover a new strategy, an insight into your opponent, or a truth about the way our world universally moves. Be careful, each turn will change the board in surprising ways; Even the strongest player will need to remain attentive until the final move…

you will need: a CHECKERS SET

(or a chess board & some coins, an 8x8 grid drawn with crayons, an official Waterfall Play Zine, etc)

CLARIFICATIONS:

  • Count ALL the pieces in the line: yours, your opponent’s, and the moving piece itself.

  • You must move the FULL AMOUNT.

  • You may not capture (land on) your OWN PIECES (nice try!).

  • A player with a single piece left wins! (full connection 😤).

  • If your move would connect all your pieces AND all your opponent’s pieces, YOU WIN.
